anybody have any suggestions on a quality set of 10" subs that will do 500+ rms each and have a max depth of of around 5.5 to 6 inches ? I have RF hx2's now and looking for something equal to or better than them . thanks in advance .

Illusions Audio has some pretty freaking fine shallow mount woofers. As does the new stryke audio or elegant audio (whatever they changed their name to) shallow mount woofers. If I had links, I would give you them, but I dont...so I guess just search for those names.

Just undestand that the Illusion drivers don't get extremely loud. They are SQ drivers, not SQL drivers.

Image Dynamics IDv3 line has a relatively shallow mounting depth aswell.

Soundsplinter Rl-i should fit your mounting depth requirement aswell.

Hmmmmmm....... some really good suggestions but some of these really dont quite fit the bill . I might add that I am looking for SPL a little on the SQL side . they really need to BOOM LOUD DEEEEEP BASS . all in a tiny .75 -1.00 sealed box . max depth 6" . 500+ rms ea. good luck right ??

DIAMOND M6/D6 = look nice , are these mainly sq ?

TREO = good specs , dimensions fit , heard they cost a left n*t

PIONEER = ok dont quote me on this ... Junk from personal expienece .

CRITICAL MASS = cant use front load subs .

SOUNDSPLINTER RL-I = 350 RMS tooo low

IMAGE DYNAMICS IDV3 = 250 RMS again too low

ILLUSIONS = purely Sq sub

JL = nothing in the 500 rms range under 6 inches

AUDIOBAHN = poor quality from what ive been told , but dont know for sure

ORION = they have a new p10d2 sub , but I think what I have is a little better

If I could find a really nice pair of 12 inchers under 6 inches would this be the way to go ???? not sure what to do here , they are going in my single cab ram . thanks everyone for your input .

they dont cost a left nut compared to the rest of your list. the ssi has deeper bass then the tsx but will require power. the diamond d6's are no more towards SQ than SPL, that is strightly dependant on your install.

I think you misunderstood what he meant. It's just the technology used....those Critical Mass subs use the same design technology as the Illusion Audio subs; Neo magnet in front of the cone to reduce mounting depth. No reason why you couldn't use them (other than if they don't fit your criteria performance wise)

Correct me if im wrong.

The power handling of subs goes up the smaller the box gets

Subs in sealed boxes handle more power then ported

Just cause you have 500 rms to give them doesnt me you cant gain down

Dont see any reason why you couldnt run either of those 2 subs and from what i have been told they are great drivers!
