settings help

Got 2 RE8's just installed a Memphis PRD500.1

I just want to know how to set the settings, I've got the gain fairly low right now, cause I know if I give them the whole 500 watts, thats too much.

anyway, the other settings are

Bass EQ-> 0-18db. Set to zero, assuming its the same as bass boost.

Low Pass Filter>50-350hz>Not sure where its currently set

Subsonic Filter>20-50hz....currently at 35hz.

btw, the guy that sold me the amp set everything where it is, except the gain..I lowered it a little cause I could hear the subs trying to bottom out. I DO know how to set the gain by ear, just havent taken the time to do it yet.

so....where should the above settings be set to?

what are your subs total rms power.

They are rated at 175rms each, so 350. However, in the past I did have a PG Xenon 400.1 running them at 425watts and they took it with no problems
