Setting gains with voltmeter?

The only is issue I am having is my gains on my amps with not go past 10v and that's maxed out on the gain control knob. Just doesn't seem right. My system sounds incredible, but idk why it will not get to the target voltage I am looking for. I am using Boss Audio R4004 on my subs and Boss Audio R3004 on my mids & highs. I used 60hz test one and 1000hz test tone @ 0.75 from a max volume of 35 which I set every thing @ 26. all my filters were off and EQ @ flat. It's sounds so ******, but just want to know why it will not go past 10v on VM.

I'm the last person you want to ask about this stuff but when I was setting mine I had the same issue on a 4 channel amp so instead of putting the leads on the one channel I bridged them together with the 2 channels and set it to the voltage I was looking for and it sounded like it was set on point. Don't know if this helps any..

What he said try to sell that boss amp , they do have amps that do rated look for the ones with the 200 amp rating they make about 4 or 5 of them if i still had the paper i could tell you

I would be willing to bet you are doing this WRONG... First off, You need to set your DMM to AC Voltage - YES that's right... Your DC powered car audio amp produces AC power to your speakers/subs... Though you will NEVER see your target voltage with any BOSS audio products as they are all wayy over rated, you will see more than the 10v you are seeing now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
