What is up with rap fans these days? Everytime i hear a new rap song i like it for maybe 2 days and don't listen to it much afterwards. I hear people say stuff like, " did you hear the new lil wayne song!!!", and i wonder if people have actually heard real music? Music that is unique and doesn't sound the same as shit artists have released in years past. To me, all rap sounds the same, yet it is bragged about by about 80 percent of the music fan base in america. I don't get it, why don't people widen their interests in music and listen to some metal, rock, or even a bit of country? Something besides rap, i mean, it gets old. I don't even think most of america knows what other music sounds like. It's really a shame, because metal and rock is really good shit but alot of people will never listen to it. Alright, my rant is over!

also there are alot of rap artists that use a much finer taste in music than soulja boy or lil wayne.

lol why care? u dont kow that.. what is your sample space? where do u get this 80% figure?

i think that metal shit sounds the same, but from 80's rock, to alternative, to hardcore, emo shit all things with the "guitar" all sound different

times for each

i listen to what evers sounds good to me. from rap to rock. it doesn't matter.
thats how i am to. I use to be obsessed with rap along time ago, and now i like metalcore and stuff much more. None of the metal groups even get any attention because mtv and shit is to busy playing 50 cent and lil wayne. It is really a shame

I even listen to country sometimes in my car. Throw in some dierks bently or something just to mix it up

all the beats in rap have been used so many times, its not even funny. Plus, is there any variety in rap, because i don't see anything new that impresses me.
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif metal is exactly the same way for me...it all sounds like 5 guitars making noise and someone banging on drums in a pointless hard to decipher pattern and to top it off some angry guy who everyone thinks is hardcore yelling shit at the top of his lungs you cant understand because he can't speak clearly

Also the main point of rap is the lyricism and meaning that can be carried in the songs, but unfortunately mainstream rap no longer reflects that at all. Its pretty much just hiphop these days...if you primarily listen to radio rap, then it makes 100% sense you would have the opinion you do

Rap/Hip Hop died when Snoop came through and crushed the buildings. Music Sux now plain and simple. I just listen to mid 80s-mid 90s music. Throw a little Kanye, The Roots, Lupe etc in there. I probabl like them because you can tell in their music that that period I mentioned influenced them.

Anything with a Young or a Lil in the title, I try and stay away from. NOt for me, but it's for many.

i love it when you pull up to a show with a wall of 18's and the double kick is just beating the shit outta them and the highs are screaming and everyone is looking at you like WTF!?!?!?!?!?!?!

lol

gonna be intense when i finish my truck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Real rap FTMFW! However, there are a lot of genres of music that also do these things. I listen to a lot of storyteller musicians as i like to call them. Like Bob Dylan, Bright Eyes or anything by Conor Oberst, Lou Reed, etc. That kind of music that leaves you thinking. I love that shit.

Exactly, yea when I come across stuff like that, I listen to it to and enjoy it, I just happen to be more culturally influenced by rap, and its what's around me more, so I seek good rap out more often as it is my music of choice
