Second Battery

What's different about the ground run that won't cause it to spark if it's carrying the same current as the positive?
the direction of the flow of current , it`s D.C. volt/current and in d.c. it flows from negative to positive and if you take away the the hot side(positive) there is no flow of current or voltage, make sense to you?

It massively depends onthe length of your run also.
Yup.....But it looks like he's got an SUV. So I'm assuming these runs are pretty decently long. I definately wouldn't run more than 250A through the long runs of that KLM 1/0 in an SUV.

another question, does it matter if I put the box really close to the trunk?

I want to see if I can fit the battery right behind the box. if not its going to have to go on the opposite side of where i'm running the wire from :/

Like in your avatar?

If that's what you mean, just move it around and see what box position works best for your vehicle. If it sounds fine with it close to the trunk, then it's fine. No real way for us to tell you if it will work or not. Just have to try it.
