second battery needed

I have a red top under the hood of my ram 1500.

I have huge dimming issues and think I need a second battery..

something small? to go behind seats? unless someone has a better idea for me..thanks

would it be ideal to just get a new xs power or better battery and use the red top up front aswell with amps run off that?

no I believe its fin.. I just need to stop my headlights from dimming and voltage drop

I'd have it load tested anyway. The optima batts aren't as good as you think

Make sure you have the big 3 done too.

Battery brands dont have to match.

get te d3400 xs ' as main battery and the red top to power your amps ' but yea your red top might be on its finals have you charged your optima?

No I've had it about 2-3 years no issues,I just want my headlights go stop dimming etc.

Pc2150 for $90 plus the ride if you're interested.

Can have it load tested for you. It's my current starting and not very old at all.

2-3years can drain the capacity of the battery.

I'd have it load tested.

It will have increased resistance inside if the capacity has decreased. If you add another battery to the system while using that battery, it could rob power from the other battery constantly which will decrease the lifespan of the batteries and put more stress on the alternator.

I will definitely get it tested before adding my new battery. Thanks for the info bro, trying to find a used ish one to save a bit , if not I'll be buying brand new prob
