Second Battery in the trunk?

yea, my vote would be another yellow top 160 out the door with no tax where i get em //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

shud i get another d31t?? thats what i have under the hood...and wud i need to charge it every once in a while wt a charger every once in a while? and can i hook up a charge rightto my batt in my car right now or do i need to take it out?

well both of em had good points....well a new alt will be 400 or so installed im assuming....new yellow around 150......i was told just to get another yellow and charge it once in a while
I doubt thats going to work. Whoever told you that is a RETARD. That's like playing your system with your car off. Lasts long huh?

I'd seriously get an alt.

When both batteries are hooked up to your car/system your alt runs twice as hard and puts strain on it.

Deal with what you have now, save some money and buy a 220A.

I have a 115A (stock) and I have 2 amps hooked up with no problem. NO big 3 either. I get zero to no volt drops. Maybe (est.) 11 here or there. Nothing major.

What size is your alt.

silver i think i have a 110 amp alt....i looked the oem alts up for my car and it says 110, but i know people wt my same amp and a 90 amp alt without problems......so i dunno my alt prolly isnt puttin out the power it says....or maybe my car just has other power draws that are significant....

I am on helotaxi's side with that debate. (Great thread btw).

I'd still look into a alt instead.

When that second batt has to catch up. The alt's going to strain more than with just 1 battery.

I would never put a 2nd battery in my trunk.

Here is another question.

With the same alt kotec123 has, if he added another battery would he still get volt drops?

I may be looking at this backwards, but something still tells me 2 batteries on a 90a alt isnt good.

Also, Kotec123 does your car die at idle?

my amp will be fine, but u can tell the car is kinda lagging? (at high volumes and after i was listnin to it at high volume) if thats the word im lookin for......and if i turn the radio off, then back on, the amp for my subs wont turn on untill i drive aroun for a little bit, probly to charge it a bit

i was also told that my car just has a voltage regulator somewhere in its computer, that regulates the alternator...maybe its regulated to charge not as often as its suuposed to ...what do i do

i think that adding a second battery would help fix voltage drops, there would be a longer time b4 the amps would have to draw off the battery before going to the alt

But when the batteries go to the alt. More strain on the alt causing it to shit. The 1st battery doesn't charge the second battery. The alt charges them both. Plus were talking about a whole car here. Just not a system. So who knows what else could be using the battery.

I'm thinking if you upgrade the alt, whenever the battery needs to be charged the alt won't have a problem keeping it at a nice 14v.

I guess either way is a win win situation. I just think he doesn't need 2 batteries for his setup. Rather a alt.
