sealing up front doors from outside elements

i have an 03 dodge neon and have had my door panels off for a few days. well i decided to wash my car up. when i opened my door, i noticed a lot of water inside the door (my speakers are out). i have sealed my door up baffle wise, but how do i seal them up from outside? foam? cant believe that much water comes in... poor speakers.

That happens to all doors, what makes it worse is the fact of a 03 Neon.. Get new weather stripping

it comes in where the window meets the weatherstripping. your door should have drain holes on the bottom, make sure they aren't plugged.

it helps to make a channel to divert water around the speakers, like a half circle above them. i have used closed cell weatherstripping foam (3/4" thick) around the top half of the speaker opening inside the door, or used deadener to make a channel.

this is why i never recommend crossovers be placed inside a door.

You really can't stop water from flowing through your doors. If the weatherstripping where the window comes out of the door is bad, replacing it might help, but most doors are designed to let water in - and out through the drains at the bottom of the doors.

alright, thanks. think i may try to make that channel to divert it.at least it doesnt rain much in AZ.
