Sealed vs Ported but not what you're thinking..

With a sealed enclosure and the high pressures attained inside i imagine it is MUCH harder on the subwoofer and shortens the life vs a ported enclosure which allows the subwoofer to move freely and there is less strain on the components. If there is truth to this then i won't hesitate to move my subs into a ported enclosure..

False.. Sealed in no way harms the sub over ported. Assuming both setups are installed an maint correctly.

Yea, the opposite. Also, below tuning the enclosure loses control of the driver. You can damage your sub from over excursion

ported = mechanical
