sealed pods for midbass...any specific size?

for my 6.5" PG rsd's....im about to make pods, and theyll be 100% sealed. is there any specific size i should aim for, or just make the pods?

Not all midbasses will perform well in a sealed pod...why is it you feel the need to seal them?

some are made to not be in an enclosure. doing an mdf ring and sound deadener in the door works pretty well. your truck has door panels right?

That's not midbass.... the PG RSD's are a 2-way system, which means the driver is a mid-range, not mid-bass, which are two different things...

And don't worry about thatm just install it in your door, deaden your door and seal all the holes on the outside skin.

I was thinking of doing mine with a full sheet of cardboard, then just putting sound deadener over it.

I'm too broke to do it, so It's all just planning ATM.

I just built sealed pods for my diamond d971's. They sound absolutely amazing sealed much better than ib in the door which is what I had before. Much better snap to drums, and a much improved midbass over all, also the midrange has cleaned up quite a bit. Mine are around .2 cu ft net a piece, and thats in a 7 inch driver. Many years ago, I made sealed pods for a set of old Boston Acoustics Rally 6.5 comp sets. Same type of results then as well. Either way you go will be fine, but if you have the time and skills, sealed pods are the way to go. Also saves you some money on sound deadening which you may not need any more. Downside is you will have speakers sticking in to your foot wells, depending on your design. I have a build log, which I still have to update, but you can get an idea for what I did.

and to the other people, look at my door panel as it sits now. i already covered it in tweed, i dont want to cut a hole in the panel (i sealed the stock speaker cut out with 1/4" wood before i wrapped the panel in tweed) so now i have a smooth base at the bottom of the panel to attach my pod to. ive already started the pods, should be done today/tomorow
