Sealed or ported-specific question

If you want to hear what it would sound like just stuff some foam rubber in your port and seal it temporarilly. Be aware that an oversized sealed box will reduce the power handling of the driver and you could blow it if you give it too much power. So keep the power levels resonalbe. Don't pound the shit of out in an oversized sealed box. Smaller sealed boxes improve power handling, but reduce low frequencies. Everything is a trade off.

word....you can feel it but not hear it...other the the sub fluttering
Oh I can hear it, I hear my sunroof moving in and out an inch or two and my doors slamming on their hinges violently //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Thats because that note you're talking about is below the hearing frequency spectrum of humans (huge fall off below 20hz)

Also because frequencies below the port tunning are being cancelled out and it is effectively free aired below the tunning frequency. So the sub is running full tilt, but not producing any sound at those frequencies.

Which is why sealed boxes go lower.

true, low enough below tuning and your sub turns into a fan

mine was sealed and you can't hear the last note at all

well i thought it was going to rip up the surround on my sub and i was like jeez and turned that shit down. this sub is loud as ballz already. personally i can't hardly drive with it at full tilt. just looking at the options i have.

i always compare everything to the song Put on by jeezy just because it has the 4 different bass notes. it hits the 2 and 3 ones hard but has trouble with the 4th one. it will pick it up sometimes. but then again the sub is still pretty new so its still stiff. so maybe it will pick it up because it will become easier for the sub to move i guess.

btw does anyone know the bass notes on put on?
