Sealed or Ported: drawbacks

Can I live?
I am currently running a single TREO SSI 15 in a 4cuft @34 enclosure in the trunk of my car firing back. I don't have much room for the sound to come back into the car, it gets pretty loud, but I want a little more. Should I try a sealed box firing up if I'm trying to gain dbeeeeezs, or attept to seal it off? Its going to be a b**** to seal the trunk off and I have no idea how to build the forth order I thought about some time ago. Can the sealed firing up get louder than the current ported facing back?

It varies depending on the car. A pretty safe option is subs and ports back. But honestly, the only way to tell is to move your box around and see what sounds best to you.

If you're trying to gain output, sealed is probably going to disappoint you.

If sealed is going to disappoint me and my current ported isn't giving me enough room for my sound to get back into the car, should I try 4th order or sealing it off firing forward? Which would be louder and would I lose anything between the two?

sealed will be quieter...and firing up will be also the waves will be going up and down rather than firing to the back which will go to the back of trunk to the cabin of the car i believe
bass is omni directional //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif but what your talking about is the rear loading function of the car.
