ok was wondering is there a big diff from say low 40 to 37 hz. im having a issue geting somthing to fit in my car. the box i just got is tune to 40 + i was thinking going down to 37. i kinda just play rap music and that about it.

it'll make a difference. what do you mean fitting it in the car is an issue.

37Hz will require a longer port/bigger box...

well my trunk is weird. it dips down so i cant really get a box that has any kind of hight in there. i had a box that was tune to 32 it was a nice *** box but it would not fit and i sold it on the cheap. so i got this box and it fits so nice but it might be tune to high. it sucks cuz im waiting on my amp and subs to come and its like i feel as if im geting no were. i would love to build a box but i can right now and nor can i pay 300 dollers to have one built and shipped to me. i might go with the the one that tune to 37 it should hit the lower notes alot better what u guys think. im just kinda geting alittle pissed with the hole box fiting thing and tuning . The Fi subs like low tune boxs

ls2poweredgoat had a thread a while back. he'll build you one for cost of materials and shipping. the tuning doesn't neccesarily make a box bigger or smaller. port size changes dramatically with box size, number of ports, etc.

see i dont know anything about tuning . I did send him a pm about a box and i asked if he can help me out. trunk specs = 34 w X 15 h X 21 d the hight will be pushing it cuz my rear deck dips down. i will go mesaure up my box for the specs of that box cuz it fits nicw

no, the ports go from the end to end its a big box i just wish it was tune alittle less

you can tune as low as you want, but you have to sacrifice chamber space. that box is over 4 cubes, so that may be an option

it may sound good tuned low in a little less space. i'd personally go with smaller space tuned lower. with that space, i'd go with 3 subs sealed, or 2 10's ported. too late for that now. too bad you can't have someone build a box with aero ports. you may get some more space to work with.
