SD8000 first impressions

You're not a real DIYer until you open an amp and solder in copper distribution blocks for terminals. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

You can always run 2 runs of power\ground or make a bussbar and plug it in.
Have the 2 runs of 2/0 actually... I've seen some guys at comps running the SD amps and they go straight from a busbars and into the amp with a solid piece of round copper bartsock. Never have I seen an actual piece of 1/0 with a insualtion jacket going into them:confused:

Apparently in the brazil they put their amps next to the batteries or very close to the distribution blocks. So really no need for multiple inputs.
Well last time i checked this aint brazil and im with tnt sounds you can only pass so much current through a single piece of 1/0 no matter how short. Buss bars would be the only option and that just sounds like a pain in the ***.

2/0 isn't even noticably bigger than 1/0 not to mention you can't pass more than 600amps without flashing the wire or melting the jacket. I'd like to see a real world app in a daily vehicle where people like me need to run 2/0 about a foot and half to the amps.

Just being curious, do you compete? Also what brand amps do you run in your cars?
Nope. No competing for me. I'm an all day demo vehicle. I hate the art of burping at high frequencies. Needless to say here in colorado the only comps are with IASCA and an AC mic.

I also run some IA 40.1's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

40.1's are some good amps. I think you would be surprised of what sd8000's and stetsom 10kds can do for daily driving.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

FTL:crap:, if I like you I give a turn of the knob, if not keep it down:crap:

Well let me see if I'd be willing to risk burning my truck down from the wire melting at the distance it would go from my 8 batteries to the amp. Don't think that would happen for me. Sorry bud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
