screws coming out of box

wow thanks for all the help people.

hese a vid i made a wile ago with the box, @ one part u can see the air leaking from the box under the vnyle. the scews where coming out.

coarse thread drywall screws are the best screws to use...

a pan head screw or one with out a tapered head....the tapered head of a drywall screw (depending on the sub in question for yours this may not apply) has a tendency to pucker the sub mounting hole a pan head will not.

As soon as there's a panhead screw that can grip MDF well, I'll switch to them...as for now, coarse thread drywall screws grip the best, so I use them.

never had a problem with course drywall screws. I understand the "taper" possibly being an issue, but it has happened yet...

pre drill holes 7/64 and one of these has never not held for me

drop some wood glue into the screw holes then put the screws in...works every time

glue wood blocks inside the box were the new holes will be, so you have 1 1/2" of wood to bite into. Pre drill with a 3/32" bit, and DON'T over tighten them.

That's what I was thinking.

Those are very similar to what I use for smaller subs and speakers. I always use t-nuts for bigger stuff

Yea, use anchors as the mounting points and cover them in JB Weld before hammering them in and they WILL NEVER back-out...and then just use machined-screws to mount the subs
