never had a problem with dry wall screws either...If it's ur first time predrill maybe...
I never predrill... then again I don't have a vaj.
Also, I use regular coarse thread dry wall screws...

You're not drilling into the edge, you're drilling into the face of the wood. So... wtf would splitting having anything to do with it?!??!?!he pry meant that those are the best to use without spliting the mdf....
i never had a basket big enough to do that till i got the level 5'syea use some big headed screws or add washers, i pulled my screws through the basket... i forgot washers last time i put it in.....lol...

i can imagine it nowStamped sheet metal baskets are the ones that are susceptible to flange out with a drywall screw.
Cordless drill clutches are invaluable. For my Hitatchi its ~12/13 for MDF.That's why you put your clutch to the correct setting on your drill. For my ridgid, with mdf it's I usually set it ~18...
