To All,

Just registered, complete newbie to car audio but I am an electrictrical engineer so I understand a bit.

I have an alpine CDA-7893R Head unit, and that's it.

I would appreciate advice on what gear to put in.

I prefer to keep everything Alpine. I thought

Type R 10" Sub SWR-1021/1041D

Type R (FRONTS) SPR-176A

Type R (REARS) SPR-174A

MRV-F450 AMP

Please advise will this amp be sufficient on its own or will I need to add a mono amp (MRD-M300/500) for the sub?

I have already started making the box from glass fibre (following the tutorials on this site)

The install is for my01 Subaru Impreza WRX

All help greatly appreciated

Welcome to the site.

If you have to go the route of all Alpine, for whatever reasons you have, aesthetic or otherwise, your choices are fine. You can buy an amplifier subwoofer, or you can bridge two channels of your 4 channel amplifier, and run the rear speakers off of deck power.

I do not have to go Alpine, if you recommend mix 'n' match!

Is it possible to drive my rears only from my head unit? Reading into the spec I can have the output either to the pre outs or speaker outputs, not both
