Magnum Setup..

Alright, I got 2 Magnums a few weeks ago and am dying to hear what they sound like. I was going to pick another one up in the near future too. Question..

Now that adds up to 1.34ohms, and I was looking to get a Orion 2500D. But now I'm thinking about picking up the Orion XTR 2400 instead.

2500D : 2500 @ 1 ohm

XTR 2400 : 2400 @ 2 ohms

If I ran with the 2400, would I be gaining wts since it's 1.34ohms and not 2ohms?

Depends whether or not the 2400 is stable at 1 ohm since the impedence is lower. Those are just nominal ratings, the impedence varies depending on the frequency being played. Go with the 2500.

You won't hear a difference with a couple hundred watts, 2500D gets my vote.

If I remember correctly, the XTR2400 isn't stable @ 1 ohm.

i may be wrong as its been a while, but isnt the xtr2400 class a/b? in which case, the 2500d would get my vote as current wise, at least theoretically, it would be more efficient.
