sauna tube box?

a pvc pipe that thick/big wont be cheap?

and the pvc takes forever to cut if you dont have good tools. A circular saw with small teeth would do the trick though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Waterproof enclosure?

I've built a couple of HT subs using sonotube. Advantages: light, very easy to build, and NOT having any 90degree corners makes it VERY strong as it distributes the internal pressure evenly.

For a 12" sub I'd use 16" for a sealed "box" or you could do it ported with sub on one end and port on the other. If you want sub/port on the same end, the obviously go bigger.

Normally you make the baffle 2 1/4" thick, 3 layers of 3/4" MDF. The first 2 the OD matches the ID of the tube, the 3rd normally has some overhang. You could also do the 3rd several inches bigger and cut it square, so the sub won't roll around.

I had 2 15" Tempests in my last one, 17^3 @ 19Hz with 2 6" ports. If was F'ing impressive off a 500watt plate amp.

I seriously had my doubts about a cardboard tube and some $100 subs, but it amazed me beyond belief and took a day to build.

whe weight wouldnt be that heavy. a like i said, it would be about 120 lbs with the driver tops. i put that much weight in paintball gear in my trunk every sunday...

this is happening for sure. no idea how it will sound but concrete enclosure with aero ports. i have to call a math geek i know to find me the desired volume of this.
