first heres the setup

pioneer DEH-68000MP deck

2 12" P1 fosgates

power acu 800w bridged

http://www.amerikanskebildeler.no/bilstereo/hammerp.htm

yellowtop batt

8 gauge wiring

the problem

subs cut out out randomly at any volume. at first i thought it was my electrical because i would notice the cuts were more frequent at lower volts. then i went out and bought a yellow top, voltage levels at 13.6ish and the subs still cut.

from what ive researched the amp is pretty solid so im thinking that isn't the problem

amp is grounded to engine block, the connections are solid, subs and deck are fairly new. any ideas what the problem could be?

umm i dont think i would recomend the ground on the amp to the engine block for starters.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif try wiring it the chasis of the car and within 3 feet minimum from ure amp

Amp is grounded to the engine block?

Got a question. Have you tried hooking up a multimeter to see what your voltage drops to during bass hits? More than likely exceeding the current you have on tap during those moments. have the alt tested. would be my guess.

ive tried grounding the the chassis and i get the same thing.

when i say cut out, i mean the green power light on the amp turns off, then slowly fades back on, almost like its going into protect.

ohm load on the amp is 2 ohms stable, subs wired in 4. amp is in trunk

the pioneer deck gives me a reading, and at the deep hits volts never drop more than .1 how would i go about having the alt tested?

find a permanent home on the chassis for ground preferably within 2-3 feet of amp. if its doing same thing try upgrading ure power and ground cable to atleast a 2-4 guage. if that doesnt help get ure alternator and amp tested and double check on ure subs wiring config.
