Running your sub parallel?

Tried running my sub parallel (positive to negative on each coil and then another wire for one side positive and one side negative which connects to the amp) and no sound at all came out, normally I run it in series (positive to positve, negative to negative) and it works fine, checked the coils after install and they were connected fine, ended up hooking it back up in series and it pumped out sound again, the owners manual to the MOFO recommended running it in series or parrallel and gave similar directions in doing so, just wondering why it didn't put out any sound at all, any advice would be appreciated.

you seem to have your series and parallel wiring confused...

if you actually had your sub wired in parallel(both +s and -s connected directly to amp) you may have lowered your final impedence too low for your amp...putting it into protect mode.

wiring it in series(jumper wire from one coil's + to the other coil's -) raises you impedence and i can't think of any reason your sub would produce no sound with that set up

ok, see where I made the mistake, your probably right about the amp going into protect mode, must of been too low of an impedance or something, but seriously though, the owners manual on the mofo said the opposite about wiring, it said +to+ was series, etc., and a friend of mine (whom is also heavily into car audio) said that was series as well, but at this point I guess the site you posted speaks for itself
