running speaker wire

i heard it was bad to run speaker wire next to the power wire.. is that true?

also, how do i connect my rear speakers to my HU? do i disconnect the rca's from the HU for the rear speakers?

i dont see it every week. i saw a thread with helotaxi saying no, it doesnt matter and worlddre saying not to do it.

i dont think it really matters at all. rca's next to power, speaker wire next to power, hell, my whole wiring is a mess and i dont have any noise. you'll be fine.

No, you do not need to avoid the power wire. You can zip tie the power and speaker wires together if you want.

As to the rear speaker question...does your headunit have an internal amplifier (i.e. are there speaker outputs, or only RCA outputs)?

yeah its a pioneer one. are the speaker outputs in the back of the HU? i only saw the rca outputs.

Speaker outputs=White...White/black...Grey...Grey/black...green...green/black...purple...purple/black wires in the harness.

the speaker outs should be color coded coming out of the rear/rear harness....

check your instruction manual........
