running 2nd battery

You can, but that's just going to add resistance to the circuit.
Same thing with grounding to the frame instead of running straight to the front battery. You are adding 2 extra connections which is has the potential to add resistance to the circuit. A high powered circuit.

my voltage rose at the battery when i switched from a run to the neg up front to a ground in the back.

what wire size? was it a good connection? ever see how db drag cars ground? some companies that make amps say if the amp is over 300 watts ground to the battery EVEN if it is a front battery...and sincesome of those companies dont make wire it isnt a marketing ploy......this isnt complex either this should be obvious in a basic electricity class. you MAY be able to get a good ground in back but in most cars it is easier and safer just to ground in the front.

What size wire?
all 0 gauge with big 3 done...

and ive seen plenty of situations on here where people have seen better voltage with a good ground in the back than by running it to the front.

it was in a thread..lemme try to find it.

a lot of people on here would disagree.

ok that may be so..the car does play a role however. i had a run of 0 gauge (kicker hyperflex) crimped very well with copper terminals using a table vice attached to securely to both battery negatives. with the car on i saw 14.xx(its been awhile sorry, i wanna say 14.6. undid that ground and tried a spot on the frame of my explorer( drilled a hole, sanded the whole area, and bolted it down securely). measured again and voltage rose to 14.8-9. again just in my scenario. not speaking for anyone else other than my specific car/setup. this isnt my first install..i can handle a simple run of ground cable.....

im going to be adding a HC600 in the back.. and my old accord i had red top up front and yellow in the back, i grounded the yellow and my amps to the frame.

with this car i want to do it right.. so.. since i dont have another run from neg to neg,, the best way to go is to ground my HC600 to the frame and then ground my amps to the HC600?

All my wire is 0AWG except the wire to my 4ch amp which is 4awg.

The only way this is OK is if you also upgrade the grounds on the front half of the system, which is running a ground from the battery to the "frame."
