running 2 amps on 1 sub

hey all i have a 15in re mx dual 1 ohm and 1 1606 d amp that can be ran at 1 2 and 4 ohm...could i get one more 1606d amp and run it on my sub and if i could what ohm would it be at?

yup. if each coil is 1 ohm just run 1 amp on each coil.

word....gotta match the gains tho but 2 of those amp is overkill since they are rated at 1500watts.

ok so it isnt a bad idea? bc i was told it wasnt smart to run 2 amps to onesub...the reason why im asking is cause i can get a 1606d cheaper than if i were to get a 2606d and risk blowing it by running .5 ohm yammean? lol

If the sub can take the power, do it. I run 4 amps per sub in some of my setups.

its ok but you really need to set the gains and all the settings exactly the same.

you simply cannot run a dual 1 ohm sub at 1 ohm with a single amp...its either 2 ohm or 0.5.

yea i was just a little confused with the 2 amps 2 subs deal i dont know why lol...so when i get 2 ill just run them at 2 ohms at 1100 rms per sub... ill be satified with that

so actually now that i think of it...it would actually be better to just sell my amp and get a 2608 so then i can run 1700 rms now to one sub then when i get a nother sub i can run 1300 to each

You can also connect both subs in a series/parallel combo to achieve a 1ohm load and then strap both amps to the common 1 ohm load.

I believe those amps have a slave/master so level matching would be easy.
