I will have a 4 channel amp soon...i have a mono amp as well...should i run 2 seperate lines of 4 guage or 1 dual amp kit?? what the advantages and disadvantages of this??....will the dual amp kit have like 200 amp fuse??...my mono amp is 30amp x 2 and my 4 channel is 20x2 amps...thanks any info will help.

I say run a larger sized wire to the rear and then split it off with a fused distro to smaller wires to the amp. That way you have the flexibility to add and remove amps of different sizes (like a huge amp for testing) if you're so inclined.

Where from Pittsburg are you from? I'm in Cranberry, maybe stop up and talk or some shit.

How big should my fuses be on distribution block?? (2) 40 amp fuses and how big of fuse on power wire?? right now i have a 100 amp maxi fuse high current

If you run 4 gauge to the back of the car, fuse at the battery with 150. Then at the distro, split it to two 4 gauges, each fused at 100.

At the distro i fuse for the amps' ratings, so 40A and 60A in your case. but 100-150 at the battery is fine.

Fuses on the wires protect the wires, not the amps. You should fuse to the capibilities of the wire, especially when using lower power amplifiers so you don't have to replace the fuse whenever you go bigger.

So if i have a 100A fuse at the battery...i should have a 40 and 60A fuse at the distro block..one for each amp..the 20x2 and 30x2??..i will run all 4 guage from battery to block...block to amp

If you have a 100 under the hood now, replace it with a 150. Then, get a fused distro with two outputs. Run one 4 gauge wire to each of the amps. Fuse each of the amp's wires at the distro with a 100a fuse.

I'll show ya' what I mean when you come up tomorrow.

Hey Pat...correction..i checked under my hood and in the US Amps manual...i have a 60A fuse under the hood cause my mono amp's fuse rating is 60A..and US Amps says to make you fuse under the hood at or under the fuse rating of your amp..so i am good with that...here is what i am gonna do..i am gonna buy 2 sets of RCA's, more 4 guage ground wire, more 8 guage power wire, distro block for input of 4 guage and 2 outputs of 8 guage with (1) 60A fuse and another fuse according to my 4 channel which will be a 40A fuse...lots of speaker wires and thats it

That'll work. You just won't have much room if you swap out for more powerful amps. Fuses are cheap, anyways.

Wanna get all that run tomorrow?

I am still waiting on the amp...I know i am getting a 4 channel US Amps...not sure which model..they either have a 40 or 60A fuse rating...i just wanted to know the info first before i buy anything...i might get all that in the summer or something...gotta find the amp first though...i like the old school 4 channel US amps though..they are hard to find man...thanks
