First off, the IA DP 15:
Sub up, port forward in my '97 Maxima in 3.8 cubes net at 32 hz with 50 sq. inches of port. Sub is getting right at about 1500W right now.
Definately a pretty **** efficient sub for what it is. It definately doesn't take a ton of power to get these loud.
Sound wise, comparing them to my old pair of TC 3hp's (pair of 15's in 7 cubes @32 hz also on 1500wrms total), the single DP is definately getting louder and lower to the ear (no TL). The sub isn't as accurate as the TC's. The TC's were a bit nicer on rock with kick drums, etc. But I mostly listen to rap.
Second, the Solid Audio F2500d:
It's got the same board as the AB xd3000.1 only with horizontil fets (no vibration worries). Rated at 2.5kw, but most bench at around 2.8+kw, and they can drop to .5 ohms if you want. I'm running mine at 1 ohm.
No turn on thump like I read about. I'm immagining whom ever had that problem had some ground loop problems or something...
Really like the amp. It's running a bit more efficient than my Orion 2500d did. Also, it's doing a lot better with the lower pre-out voltage.
Controls are nice and easy to get to. It's a beefy amp for sure.
Really nice amp. Wish I would have got one of these a long time ago. Never parting with this thing.
Overall, really stoked with the new system:veryhapp:
IA has a customer for life, and if Solid was still around, they would as well.
