First timer needs help

So I'm just getting into car audio and I'm considering getting the following setup.

-2 Alpine SPS600C 6.5 inch speakers

-Alpine PDX-5 5 channel amp

-Alpine SWR-1242D 12’ Subwoofer

-Unknown head unit (any suggestions? Is it even needed?)

My question to you is will this all be compatible? I know the speakers are the right size for my car (2002 VW Passat) and i still need various wires and sub boxes and whatnot. Any other tips that you would like to share are greatly appreciated. I look forward to becoming a part of this community. Thanks

Does your Passat use coaxial speakers, or does it have tweeters mounted in the top of the doors?

That will all work fine and if yyour stuck on the alping kick might as well buy a 9886, 9887 or go with a indash dvd unit.
