review my first system :)

I may just build a box myself since I have the time and tools. And I will be installing this myself (why pay for someone to do it?)

as for the LOC I may just go pick one up at the store, the quality of it won't affect the sound quality in any way, will it?
Well...I'd liked to repete that smoke came out of it a week after installing it...a fire will damage your SQ more than any clipping or distortion can ever do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I'm on a tight budget.. but I am really thinking about it. Its only $50 more.. but then I have to spend more on an AMP and BOX. So is it really worth it?

also, how can i control the bass? through the default HU? would i need to buy a bass remote then for this amp?
By adjusting the gain on the amp and you'll have some control through your factory headunit.

I'd say so. Get two 4-ohm CVR's and wire them down to 2 ohms. The Profile amp you gave us a link to should handle them both fine then.

How would wiring them down to 2ohm work? Wouldn't that cut the wattage in half?

Think opposite- wiring them down will increase the amount of power the subs recieve. More ohms = more resistance.

Wiring kit: E1000 $26+ship

Sub: Get the DVC 4Ohm B1G1F deal $150 (or Crutchfield if you prefer)

....and sell one of them. That profile amp is a little overrated, but not by a whole lot. Expect around 450ish wrms at 2 Ohms. Enough to run a single CVR.

Bass Knob: The AP1000M comes with it, so you can adjust the bass volume that way. Be sure you know how to properly set the gain when utilizing one.

Line out converter: The AP1000M also comes with one! Yes, it really does! (pdf page 10/page marked 9)

Since you saved some cash by not having to get the line out converter, the bass knob, and you can hopefully sell the 2nd sub to make it cheaper than what you were going to spend on just 1 anyway, how about getting the amp from Crutchfield since they are authorized so you can take full advantage of that nice 3 year warranty?
