Reusing Stock Battery Terminals

Hey,

I'm about to wire everything up in the next few weeks and wanted to try to do everything as close to neat as possible. For right now I'll be keeping my stock battery(hope to replace it with a batcap2000 next month). My question is...should I get new terminals that have the wingnut to secure ring terminals from wires, or should I get the regular ones with the two bolts and use the bolts to secure the ring terminals from power/ground wires? Pics of my choices are below...thanks!

Anyone have any idea of which to go with? I'm also trying to find out how big of an eyelet I need for the ring terminals...1/4, 3/8 or 5/16?? I'm at a loss as to which one will fit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

i really like the wingnut ones...i feel like they hold more secure and you can quick connect
I like being able to quick connect, but my next question would be...what size eyelet did you get? I don't know which ring terminal size to get.

Id choose the standard terminal, wouldnt have to stack ring terminals as you would the wingnut version this imo looking cleaner.
That's kind of why I'm torn...but I would have to stack with either one. The standard terminal replacements have a bolt on either side which would allow for two extra connections. The big three by itself requires two 1/0 gauge negative ring terminals and then I would run one back to my batcap. So I wouldn't have to stack the positive side, but I would have to stack the negative side.

Thanks for the suggestions...what size ring terminals did you gusy use? I'm thinking 5/16" 1/0 copper lugs...but I want to be sure they will fit without needing a washer.

Just ordered a 10pk of 1/0 3/8" copper lugs. I hope you're right!! The upside is that they only cost $13 shipped, so I'm not out that much $$. Thanks for your help!

For connecting to the battery 1/4 or 5/16 is the right size. 5/16 on the wing nut terminal and 1/4 on the one with 2 bolts and a clamp. 3/8 has a big *** hole about the size of a sharpie marker, dont really like using them as i never use a bolt that big. Theyre also drilled out so big it makes them fragile when using a small bolt like the 7/16 on those terminals. They work good with side post batts though.

Those terminals should work fine, sometimes factory batterys have slightly smaller negative posts and youll have to make a copper shim or something around it, ive always seen it on delco batterys.

Hmmm....It seems like I keep getting conflicting info. A few of you guys say to get 3/8 and someone says those are way too big....I already ordered the 3/8" ones based on the info I got earlier. Am I going to be ok with those? They shipped out today....
