Changing pulleys

My stock pulley is 2 3/8''. If I was going to go with a smaller pulley what size should I go with? Would I need a smaller belt if I installed a smaller pulley? I was thinking either 2'' or 1 7/8''. Will going with too small a pulley cause problems? I drive mostly around town occasionally on the highway.

Get the smallest one you can, but that still won't fix your issue. Your alt is not putting out enough or you got a shitty battery. Try addressing both of those.

I changed up some of my wiring. Holding 12.6 with lights and heat on full tilt. Im satisified with my alt just dont get much amperage at low rpm's. Im thinking a smaller pulley would fix this and hopefully the voltage would hold a little higher. Would I need a smaller belt?

I know in my car I don't need a smaller belt. There is a tension bolt to adjust it. Not sure about your car though

Probably just go with the smallest see how it works. If im not satisfied then I will get another alt.
