Resin the inside of box?

hes right, resin wont add strength. resin alone has no reinforcement, thats why mat is used..

fiberglass matte hellps i have seen guys gain some serious dbs by doing it. an some lose some dbs but if your going for mic numbers first build your box test to see if it putting up good numbers then resin it. but just for sound i would recommend some bracing and a good box build prolly double baffling it wouldn't hurt either

but if you resin it use a rubber roller an dont mix your resin hot cause you want to take your time doing this

Resin applied to the inside of the box, doesnt add strength worth noting. Actually, adding mat and resin over large flat areas does not do much for strength either. If you are looking to make the box stronger, like said above look into other types of bracing.

putting runs of rope or wire underneath glass for long straights works excellent.. very strong reinforcement. i dont know about doing that on the inside of a box though...

With the cost vs. performance ratio, I would go with other options personally.

Not harder. It's hard to distinguish...

But the DENSER the enclosure is, the more response you'll get.

The reason people put resin inside a box is to seal the MDF not to make it stronger. MDF alone is porous.

i have seen it make my boxes peakier. it can gain it times, and in times it wont. generally for spl, people say to resin. it also can raise your reactive load. the most gains i have found is mixing saw dust/sand into the resin and then applying. if you want it for purely strength then just do some threaded rods.

This is why i did it...especially in the corners. However, if I could cut worth a lick, I wouldn't need to that anyway. It's a bandaid for lack of craftsmanship.
