Removing Bose..what to replace it with?

Ok! I have an 05 A4 B7 Audi and have been on the audi forums for quite a while now and there has been NO MENTION what so ever that the car will stop running if the Bose HU is removed! I myself have already replaced the front speakers and am also replacing the HU as well now i myself do NOT have the Bose radio but there have been many people that do and have taken them out and had no problems with the car not starting. So unless the person that said that the car will not run i HOPE YOU are talking from experience on the Audi's.
