Ok ive decided to get rid of my Bose in my car because Im about to add a sub and amp to my car real soon and from what i was told with Bose in the car, it wont make it sound too great. So what is a good choice for HU and speakers and an amp to run it. I got the Phoenix Gold Rsd comp for the fronts but should i do rears too? As for HU i was thinking Alpine either a used 9855 or 9885 and for amp not quite sure which to go with so any suggestions would be helpful. I would say budget is near $400 or so. Oh yeah this is going into an 01 Audi. Thanks in advace.

dumb move... keep the bose in the car. well, if you want the car to crank. bose has an over-delay relay switch that will disable the starter switch if you disconnect any of their speakers. good luck with system change....

what car is this all going in? good choice on the RSD's, i have a set and I love them. give them about 120-150 rms. the 80 i'm giving mine is just not cutting it

if your car is a smaller car or you rarely have rear passengers, i'd say forget rears.

as far as HU goes, go for the Alpine 9887, gives you more support for processing and such IIRC if you can swing the $$.

amp.....profile makes good budget amps. http://www.millionbuy.com/prfap1000.html

that amp would work very well for you

what the hell are you talking about? I have NEVER heard of this, and people on here remove Bose systems all the time. anyway, that is probably just the HU, not the speakers anyhow. I know if you pull the bose headunits out, they won't work anymore, but it would be stupid to have a car not start because the radio was stolen

try it and see.... i guess if you wanna use the car as a shell to listen to your tunes go right ahead. i'd rather drive and liten to a bose system rather than walk, park, and jam.... again, stupid move.

buddy.... theres alot of dumbasses on this forum. watch out!!!!

I have taken some of the speakers out of my audi with the bose system and have had no such issue. Im not calling you a liar but it must only be on certain cars

wow im so confused now..some people say its ok while others say its not. dont know what to do. i think i may need to hear more opinions before doing this.
