Religion Thread

agnosticism is a religion bro....
Agnosticism is the belief that neither organized religion nor atheism is correct - basically, the existence of a higher being cannot be proved or disproved based on current evidence.

We're picking at semantics here, but I'd call it a concept, not a religion...and it's a concept I find appealing.

If you have read any of my posts you would know for certain I am not catholic but thats another can of worms. I know its wrong to cuss along with many other things. Just because I dont hide who I am does not make me a hypocrit.
I said others may view it as hypocritical so watch out...if you consider yourself a Christian you have to show other people by your words and actions that there is something that makes you different..

as far as evolution, it is a theory, but it is also a religion...

you cannot be a Christian and believe in evolution because they are two opposite arguments...

Part of religion is what you believe about the creation of the world, powers that govern it, etc.

An evolutionist believes that there is no creator of the universe and through natural selection and many other factors over time, humans "evolved", if this is so, then the human is a meaningless creature in a vast universe. Would you all agree that it is wrong to kill someone?

yes, agnosticism is the belief that you can not know whether there is a God or not, however, you still have principles, morals, and beliefs that you live by, therefore making it a religion, religion is just things that you believe, hold true, and stand by....

I realize that Iam in no position to judge the hearts of man, but if you are a Christian, would you not want to go to church and pray regularly? Would you not want to go to church more to learn about God and what His word says?
I pray and I do study some. I got burned from my church due to alot of BS and people acting way out of line like they were better then everyone that stepped through that door and yet alot of stuff in the bible didnt get touched becuase it was to touchy of a subject. There are alot of reason why I stopped going but I am not trying to use any of it as an excuse. But then again I dont have to go to church to be a beleiver.

Morals? I have none of these morals you speak of //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

But yeah - you're right.

That is not at all true. Evolution states that man evolved over time, but does not state that he did it all by himself. The Catholic Church does not necessarily support Evolution, but they do accept it, at least as a theory. As I said earlier, I have gone to Catholic school all of my life. Am I tought that the world was actually created in seven days? No. The theory of evolution is strongly supported by many Catholics, including myself.
