Hello to everyone

new here and could use some help, i recently bought a new seat leon and want to upgrade its sound system.

I would like to put at least 1 set component speakers at the Front and my question is

1) will it sound ok if im changing only the front speakers and leave the back speakers stock?

2)Will it ruin the sound of the fronts?

3) which speakers and amp you guys recommend in a budget of 500$ both?

4) must i have a sub? Or i can go only with components? I have kids and not alot of space at the trunk.

Thanks alot

welcome to the forum!! A Seat Leon, eh? Thats pretty cool! I saw a few of those when i was in Romania this summer. What year is it? I only ask because itll help with speaker recommendations. Seat being made by Audi, its probably based on the A3 or A4, if im not mistaken. Regarding the sub, its not completely necessary, but if you want more than punchy midbass, youll want a sub. That being said, you can get away with a single 8 or 10 in a smallish box to conserve space and still add some decent low end. What brands are available to you there in Israel?

Many folks would leave the rears right out after upgrading fronts. Should be easy enough to leave them and just use the fader to tone them down to your taste.

Morel speakers are great and (at least their high ends) are made in Israel. Not sure if being a local you can get them at a better price than those of us who would need to import them?

As far as amp, many people outside the USA don't have great access to the variety we have here in the USA, we can recommend stuff all day but you may grossly overpay to buy there or have it shipped.

also, most folks around here dont go with rear speakers at all for optimal front staging. It wont ruin the front speaker sound, but it wont be ideal if you leave the rears stock if you insist on having rears period

the fading idea is a very good one indeed, and i couldnt agree more when it comes to the brand recommendations. I didnt know that Morel is an Israel based brand, and if you can get a set of those at a decent price, youll not be disappointed if you get in the upper line. Pretty killer speakers from what ive read

Thanks for all the replies

Yes morel are made in israel and ill probably will buy the morel tempo 6 components but i have problem with finding an amp that can drive them. They are 120rms and its hard to find her an amp that can drive them in a reasonable price. Probably around 500$ plus.

highly recommend a sub even if it's a 12 sealed in small box at least it'll make up for bass speakers can't play.. use hp over on speakers so they play louder and more clear so if u use hp xover u need sub to give u some low end.. i fade my speakers about 80% to front.. last car i just removed rears completely..

are you familiar with any online shopping sites thatll ship to you without raking you over the coals pricewise? If so, can you link the site so we can peruse for ya?

I know sub is best but as i said i do not have a place to fit it cause the baby stuff in the trunk and it will cost a lot more to buy an extra amp for it but ill consider it.

Maybe i will buy just an amp to the front speakers and fade it toward the front as recommnded.

Amazon is the best price to buy but they dont ship to israel and also there is a tax for import. Here stuff cost double if not triple from usa.

Another thing is that i will connect it to the original double din of the car so i will need a dsp?

you might be surprised how small of a box you can get an 8 or 10 in, but if it doesnt work, it doesnt work. Youll need a line out converter (not recommended) or a DSP (recommended) to get signal to amps.

The lack of vendors outside of the usa is amazing sometimes esp considering that the vast majority of stuff is made outside of the usa. When i was in Romania this summer i did hear a couple cars here and there bumpin away and wondered where they got their stuff from as none of the electronics shops i wandered thru had any car audio stuff outside of just plain ol decks. And yes, i visited some electronics shops just because i had time and was curious //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
