RE XXX15 '05 not playing

ya, i got a dmm in the house. I'm a computer engineer(basically and electrical engineer with 3 CS classes), so this stuff isn't new to me. Its just a pain to have this go.

the amp lights up fine. no protect light either....

I'll do the speaker check with a dmm most definitely. I'll check the amp that way too. If its the sub, recone time it is!

email scott for 2ft worth of tinsel. of course it's an excessive amount but you will have some to spare just in case you need to do it gain.

then go here. read page 2

http://forum.carstereos.org/lol-tinsel-snap-t67885p2.html

what i did i took the remaining peice of the tinsel coming out of the cone and trimmed it short enough so i could mount new tinself next to it and solder them together.

after you solder them together take some 2 part epoxy and glue that section to the cone. get a nice good amount and let it sit a day. then take some socks or towels and roll them up. and stuff them under the cone/between the basket to push the cone up to full excursion. when you have it sitting at full excursion cut the tinsel to the proper lenght required and solder on. then remove the towels and resume happy with the bump.

i had to do this to my speaker months ago. and it's still holding up and taking it's beating.
