75% of the time burnt or broken leads are caused by damage to the coil. The other 25%... heavily clipped signal from the amp.

Maybe its just from clipping and repairing the leads will effectively repair the sub, but you'll still need to make some changes or it will surely happen again.

However, there very well may be damage to the coil. If so, they're just going to break again very quickly.

yah, something was obviously going wrong. I'm thinking of throwing a kinetik in the back. Or replacing the yellowtop up front.

....that was in reference to having something wrong with my amp I think
