re audio vs kicker

so the kicker 1500 plus the kicker 650.4 and the kicker 550.2 is all the amps i will have and the 550.2 wont be running all the time just when i decide to turn it on that is for seleniums for when i am at partys or jsut want to piss someone off by blaring loud music out of my grill of the truck
and the 650.4 2 channels wont be getting all 120rms just around 50rms for the rears and the fronts will get all 120rms so i think my alt should handle it

if not i can bump up my idle so i should be fine

I have a stock alt right now with about 2800watts

at the moment im running a stinger SP1000 batt and stock under the hood...stinger batt runs at 10.8 volts with the car on

If your running UNDER 14v when it's hammering, you are not getting 2800 watts....

are you kidding me. you think 4awg from the bat is SMALL? ive owned and looked under the hood of MANY cars and have never seen anything even close to 4awg. 4 awg is PLENTY for stock electrical...

My car had ~2 awg from the alt to the batt. I am upgrading to 1/0 because I'm getting a HO alt anyway, so why not?

The only way to solve dimming completely is with both batteries and a HO alt. With just an alt, voltage will be all over the place due to the demands of the amps and not a lot of reserve to draw it from. Batteries add a ton of reserve, but they do need something to charge them. Unless you play a ton of tones or rap with long bass lines, batteries normally solve everyone's problems. Music is dynamic. But if you listen to everything, like me, you probably need both.

I'm debating right now on what I should do for batt's. Thinking about an HC800 in back, then upgrading the front to a hc1400. Then I'll hopefully be set.

that seems even more likely that it was aftermarket then. seems the trend with installers who put in HO alts is to only upgrade the alt to bat. could have been replaced a long time ago.

Why do you keep arguing with everyone...geesh. I highly doubt someone put a HO alt in his 94 taurus without him knowing and some installer replacing the wire with crappy unlabeled 2ga wire that is already fraying
Everyones thing is different, and if you haven't used more then your 2 batts, why are you all quick to judge if they make a difference or not? Doesn't seem like you have any experience at all in that department.
