mine smashed in the lows dept but was sloppy in the upper frequencies... i am pretty sure i liked the overall sound of my CVX 12's over my MX 12's, even had the MX's with an Orion 2500d per.

what kind of box were they in? how much port and what was it tuned to? i've heard several good things about mx's

I prefered the mx to the xxx, I had the 15" and it sounded pretty good to me. I definately prefered it over the XXX but not as much as the UL12. thats my $0.02

one more thing, I found that it was more transparent when I fed it 70hz and lower. i let my midbass take it from there

I had the MX 15" in a ported 4c/ft box tuned to 32hz and playing from 63hz/24db slope down and I thought it sounded great. It had some slight mechanical noise but still sounded good, I was running it off of a stetsom 2k6d (2500wrms).

so im talking to mob, and we both agree the mx pretty much sucks. (sounds shitty)
i feel there is still SOME hope for this sexy beast, but i just dont know!

Tune it to 30 hz and feed it a lot of power. Yet, I'm not certain if you're going to be satisfied with that.

marcotheclepto helped me build my box, but i messed up on a couple of things so maybe its the box. someone help me figure out if my tunning is 35 please?

its 30 L 14 h and 19 d.

port is 19 in long

port with is 3 in

salinas? oh **** thats not the bay area lol. i go over there every so oftain though. i know a great shop in salinas and my team mates always work on their cars at this guys shop. the owner has a couple cars doing 160db. the dude knows his stuff! i can send you his info if you dont want to make the hour drive to fremont.
