so im talking to mob, and we both agree the mx pretty much sucks. (sounds shitty)

i feel there is still SOME hope for this sexy beast, but i just dont know!

i dont want to get it moving for just loudness.

and by shitty i meant not very good sq, just disappointed me.

i think my jl w3 sounds better than it. disappoints me big time, this mx was supposed to be my daily baby for a good while. now im not sure.

and seal that box, he dont like ported boxes, nor does the new XXX

and i know in the vid the sub is barely moving. amp gain was very low. 1/4 of the way up.

but even at that level the sq inst the best.

or what do YOU guys love about it.

what did you guys have it at? watts, tunning, box size?

ported/sealed?

i have read that the new xxx is a million times better in sealed, but nothing about the mx in sealed.

i know a guy at a audio shop and they were doing a build with 12" mx's, they started with 6 sealed but they didnt like it so they took 2 out and put ports in and they liked it alot better, and they were running them off of 2 soundstream XXX 4000d's.

well now im pretty serious about getting rid of this mx.

i had my gain to 1/4. and i turned it up today bout half ways, and it doesnt sound too good. it moves air and flexes a lot but i dont hear the sq i want
