RCAs going bad or ground??

I have some issues with my system that I installed 2 days ago. Im getting some feedback from the subs, everytime I put down the windows or turn on the headlights I hear a thump coming from the subs. Also when I turn on or off the radio you hear a loud thump as well. Checked the ground for the amp and it looks secure and is on bear metal so I dont know what else to do or look for. The HU is a 6400 pioneer monitor with a boss dvd. I had this same system on my other car and never gave me any problems at all, now that I put it in the new car Im getting this. I ran the rca right next to the power wire, I was told not to do this because it may cause problems. I need some help guys thanks alot.

rca cables.. change them and it should work

sounds like an rca issue to make sure of this take the rcas and move them away from where they are now and test and see if it still happens if not then just move them ...if it does persist try a new random set of rcas and last if you were told not to run rcas next to power why do it anyway?

If I unplug them from the amp the feedback goes away, so I guess I'll try a new set and see what happens.

I bought new rca cables tried them and no luck, it did the same thing. That leaves me with the HU or the amp ground I dont know what else to do.

If it is your amp ground wouldnt it still happen with no RCA's present? Its still running its just not getting a signal...

What kind of rcas? car? and where are you running them?

Might be the pioneer ground trace problem.

Search for it, see if your symptoms match up. Try grounding the rca cables, its been known to help.

Yup, sounds like it to me, i went through 3 or 4 pioneer 7700's before i gave up on em

I grounded the rca and it helped a lilttle bit. The rca is a stinger and the car is a 99 navigator, amp is a jbl 1200.

I believe there is something that has to be done with the deck itself, i had someone offer to fix mine for me, but i never sent it to him (just not yet) but i will be shortly
