-rattling sound coming from sub

NO NO NO hey i know what it is...inspect your dustcap...same problem with my sub...the factory doesnt glue the whole dust cap down..same thing with mine...i can see where the glue starts and stops..so either glue it yourself or take it someplace to get the dustcap reglued...then get back at us....idk what Treos problem is but it happened to mine too...
EDIT - and **** yall jump to the worst conclusions right away lol...its not a scratchy sound its the ****in dust caps vibrating because the factory ran outta glue or forgot to glue half the cone...its wierd but try glueing it with super glue or somethin
hah, just saw your post after i wrote mine. i have ran tons of treo stuff, happened to a fair amount of them.

dust cap is coming off. once i comes off it will stop, until then you cant stop it from doing it. just wait. it is an extremely common thing with all treo woofer, every model. once its off, scuff up the edges with some sand paper and glue it back on.
Sorry...I read your posts out-of-order. So u think I should let it rattle until it comes off? Wow. I don't think I could stand it. It sounds like I'm destroying something. How about using a thin bead of krazy glue around the dustcap right now? BTW...thx.

Ha ha! You know it hasn't done it for two days now, lol! I'll let u know when it happens again. I may just try the krazy glue thing before it does it again. Thx.
yea no problem and let me know how it looks cause im considering doing the same thing...

wow, that sucks to hear. i've never had any prob's with any of treo's stuff. i know those subs were good when i sent them to you, you shouldn't have to worry about used. my integrity is worth more to me than a few bucks. i would not have sent them to you if i thought there was anything going bad in them. i know you aren't saying that, but want to get that out of the way.

if your coil was letting loose, just pushing down on the sub wouldn't make the problem go away.

check everything that no glue joints are letting loose. spider to basket, dust cap, and make sure your box joints are solid. any flop between panels seperating will rattle like a blow sub also.

Hey....yeah no worries, I'm definitely NOT blaming you. I know that shit happens, and it could've easily happened to a brand new sub. I just meant that if I bought it new, I'd be able to send it in under warranty. You're a stand-up guy and I plan on buying those comps from you too (as soon as money permits).

It really feels like the dustcap, but I can't see where it may be coming separated from the cone. I dunno.....all I can do is keep an eye on it and see what happens. For the record, these subs sound awesome, and pound hard as hell. I have no regrets. I'll keep everyone posted. Thx.

it is very common. between all of my setups, i have probably had 10+ treo woofers, and i have personally been around tons of other that have had the dustcaps come off. one ssx 12" that i know of, i think the dustcap was replaced with a 15" dustcap. no more problems.

we've never had a problem with any of the treo subs we've used. and all our customers rail the crap out of them. i guess we've just had good luck.

like a 9.0 on a pair of tsx's, or a 1100.1 on a pair of tsi 10"s. shoot, i even ran that 1100.1 on a single tsx 10" ported. i beat the shit out of my stuff. i try to break it. some of them i can, some of them i cant.
