To be honest, I'd rather just go ahead and get the kickers.

I was told the Hifonics has a little better SQ than the Kicker does, but the output is much much greater in the kicker.

I could have been told wrong but *shrugs*

I bought one of these subs just for a little extra bass. I have it hooked up to a generic mini system in my house. It is only getting about 100 watts peak from the stereo, yet it shakes THE WHOLE HOUSE. I've knocked stuff off of the wall, came close to braking my window in the room in which it is positioned, and whenever I have it up loud enough and shut the door on my room, it sounds like its going to blow the door off the hinges. Great buy! Worth every penny! Even if you're hooking it up to a generic stereo!"

My friend has a pair of 12" subs and they are loud as f**k.

they are pretty f***ing loud ive heard 2 12's and man they outperformed the kicker l7 in my book and i heard them both in the same vehicle with same power.they just impressed me is all im sayin so good luck with your pick

interesting... and there cheaper than the L7's also
