Rate/Complete my first system

I'm not trying to be a d***, but those subs ****. You are better off getting pioneer ts-w 310 than those.
but what makes it bad? Sorry im new to all this stuff, im not defending hifonics at all and im not denying its bad, but Id just like to know why so i can look out for when i buy something else

they are just cheaper subs... honestly man its YOUR decision. You cant listen to most people on here, if you want the subs then get them its totally up to you. Everyone has their own opinion while in the end all that matters is yours..... just my $0.02

I find that if someone isn't prepared to give you specific reasons for why they're saying what they're saying, they probably don't have a logical explanation.

The subs you're looking at are at the lower end of what's available and the problem with them is that they won't be able to take their rated power long term without distortion, let alone their "peak" power... which is a completely useless parameter to begin with.

In the end, there are some subwoofers at or near that price point which will take their rated power cleanly and will last for years. I would look into either the JBL GTO series or the Sundown E series. Both are quality budget woofers and both will take more than they're rated for. I know because I've run a GTO ten on a thousand watts with no ill effects... long term. As for the Sundown Es, I have no experience with them but I've also not read a bad thing about them at all. And... I do own some of Sundown's higher end drivers.

This.... i only said they were cheaper subs because ive never used them. i just read alot about HFI's subs being cheaply built

I had the 12"s hooked up to a hifonics hfi 1500 and they weren't really loud. I blew a voice coil on each after like a month. I bought the pioneer's I think they were the 307's and they sounded better handled the power and costs less. My personal experience with the subs weren't good. I like the amps alot.

Ive been so back and forth over this whole thing its unreal. Theres so much to this in finding a good complete system that goes together well that fits in my budget.. Im thinking im going to keep my hifonics sub. It runs at 600 RMS (supposedly). The end goal would be to get a pair of Sundown 15, Obsidian 15, or American Bass XFL 15. But i cant see that happening until around next july. Since they all run at the same RMS, im assuming I could get an amp for my hifonics that would be compatible with the sundown, obsidian, and xfl subs. Can someone point me in the right direction towards an amp I should get? Also what do you guys think about an amp to power my speakers?
