rate a newbie's whole system (before its installed and i can still return it)

1-10, I give it a 0, because of the Q-Logic box.
That's pretty harsh considering that's the only really weak link is his planned setup...

I'm not in the "NO REAR FILL! OOOOHH NOOEESSSS!" camp but I can see the logic in going with one badass comp set in place of the two average ones he had picked out.

A lone, sealed 10" Type R on 400 watts can give some emphasis to the bottom end but no real authority.

Just my $0.02.

my opinion is the same as everyone elses... ditch the rear speakers, and get 1 set of sweet comps. port the sub, from what i hear type R's sounds good ported, but not so much sealed. other then that it looks good for a first system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yeah the setup is nice, just letting him know those boxes aren't to great.

I've got the same Q-Logic box that your salesman was supposed to sell to you.

$25 shipped //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Or you could get Moe Lester or Vincent9515 to build you a box that would be 100 times better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i have an Alpine deck with Time Correction, and before i got my sub, the only bonus with rear speakers, was a little more bass.

now i have a sub and the rears are useless.

id save your money, and get nice front speakers.

forgot, your deck doesnt have Time Correction

Time Correction delays music coming from a channel

since speakers in your car arent the same distance from you, the sound will sound like its coming from one side more than another

Time Correction helps/fixes this

front stage are your front speakers

rear stage are your rear speakers

sub stage are your sub/s

this can also include the amps

most dont use rears, they usually screw up the sq (sound quality) of your front stage due to acoustics.

i say leave the rears stock just so you have somethin back there, amp a nice set of front comps (make sure to deaden your doors well), return that q logic no matter what, and build your own box.. it is seriously easy, and its soo worth your time. if youre stuck on sealed for the response, thats cool, but output will suffer a lot. and as it is those type Rs are kinda power hungry.. you shoudl either port low in a small enclosure, or use a box about the size that .88 box is..

but whatever you do.. put more power on that type R.. ESPECIALLY if you seal it. sealed id suggest almost 1000 watts.. ported prolly about 750.. and if you set your gains right youll be verry happy with output (metal is nice with good sub and midbass output)
