Random Sub Power Surge

Hey guys, I've had a power surge problem for some time now. It's only my sub, single Alpine Type R 15 ran by an Alpine MRX-m100 amp. I also have an epicenter, clarion eq, and basic kenwood head unit.

It is mainly when I drive on bumpy streets. I get a series of LOUD (like full blast volume loud) bass thumps, like 3 or 4 in a row. Even if I turn the volume, bass level, and epicenter all the way down, it doesn't affect the obscenely loud power surge/thumping. It's extremely embarrassing and random.

I have checked all connections from the battery to the sub box and everything in between, and everything is tight as can be. Only place I didn't check is the head unit, as a shop installed everything and I don't know too much about audio installation and how to remove it to check those connections. The shop couldn't figure out the problem. Not sure where to go from here, please help.

This. It isn't too hard to take out the head unit and tug on some connections to make sure everythings snug. Also make sure they used crimp caps, butt connectors or solder and heat shrinked the wires. Hopefully the soldered the wires seeing as you a had a shop do it. Just make sure they aren't twisted and taped or connected with t-taps

I was able to remove the head unit and everything looked good, however I pulled the eq too and the "left sub out" RCA was a bit loose...pushed in about halfway whereas all other rca's were pushed all the way in. Could this cause my problem? I won't know until I drive around tomorrow.

Today started out good then hit some hard bumps on the way home from work and the loud thumping started again when I hit the bumps.
