It is only until recent that scientists theorized the bird vs reptile but dinosaur is more aptly applied to creatures existing before a set time line. Clade Dinosauria, the common name given to a group of
reptiles, that first appeared roughly 245 million years ago (near the beginning of the Middle
Triassic Epoch) and
thrived worldwide for nearly 180 million years. Most died out by the end of the
Cretaceous Period, about 66 million years ago, but many lines of evidence now show that one lineage evolved into
birds about 155 million years ago.
Other scientific sources says clade dinosauria includes mammals, reptiles, birds, fish etc all existed during the Triassic period.
Science is not always exacting and is often based on theory. Or modern days, based upon the millions in royalties to facui increasing his net worth from 7.5 million to 12 million, but that "Science" is a whole other debate.
