"the $100 build" discussion

ok, i got this idea spin-off of someone elses' personal goal...... build a box and sub that will hit the highest under $100........ trying to hash out the details, and get input. i'm thinking 100 for driver(s) and cost of materials. i think including amp cost would get too complicated, so maybe just limit it to 200-250 honest watts? another factor- cost of material. 3/4" mdf price jumps up and down as often as the stock market, and regional differences, so......limit to 1-4'x8' sheet? also, how about driver area restriction? like, equivelant to 1-15, or 1-12, or 2-10's?...... another thing that came to mind- what about those who want to dust off those os subs that they have been wondering what to do with? perhaps, some sort of way to assign a value to them? like "new value" or something? idk.... help me out here. oh, and rating/measurement requirements, like db-drag official metering method? also, which section would it be ok to post up the thread in? i was thinking "enclosure design" but not sure if that's appropriate..... just seems to fit there imho...

i like both these ideas a lot. i say rabbit and akheathen talk amongst themselves and start a legit thread for this including all the details of the rules...that is if we get enough support in here.

i say, let the open discussion/ideas run for a day and see what everyone thinks/comes up with...... you think? there's probably a bunch of people that won't get off work for a while to hear about it...
