quick? sub up port back

So if i wanted to do the box with the sub facing up and port fire back, then as long as box internal dimensions remain the same and port area remains the same as regular slot ported box then everything is ok? also if i make the box sub up port back, does it matter if port runs the along the height of the box, or the width of the box, assuming port width is the same.

if the port area and the net volume remain the same, then your good.

i have my setup like that, and its awesome, hatch doesnt rattle as much as before, when i had my sub in a sealed box firing towards the rear of the hatch.
