Quick Sub Question

Hey, I've heard of people giving AQ HDC subs way more than they're rated at, but does the same thing apply to SD1 and SD2.5 subs? Like if they're rated at 300 watts, is that being underrated?

The reason I ask is because I got a 8" SD1 sub before they stopped making them, and I'm thinking about a new amp for it. I want to give it as much power as it will take.

Right now it's running off of a blaupunkt 2 channel that I stole from my coaxials and I'd like to put it back.
